An excellent hub for networking with some of the brightest minds in filmmaking, BIFF is as intimate and as invigorating as it is breathtakingly gorgeous. For more than a decade, filmmakers and storytelling aficionados have flocked to this coastal paradise to discover "the next big thing". They've yet to go home disappointed.

Screening opportunities at BIFF are as varied as the audience members who attend. Films are played out under the stars; beach and pool side; inside state-of-the-art theaters; and on several islands throughout The Bahamas, including Nassau; Paradise Island; Harbor Island and Governors Harbour. With a growing cinema culture and breathtaking views, great film stars make their way to BIFF's fabulous event away from the Hollywood hustle.

Additionally, BIFF has provided international exposure to The Bahamas not only through its showcase but has hosted a broad number of celebrities who participate and engage with festival-goers. Its list of renown celebrities include among others:

Additionally, BIFF is also proud to present the Screenwriters Residency Program, providing writers from around the world the opportunity to receive invaluable mentoring from industry professionals and compete for a cash prize presented to the first, second and third place winners.

Aiming to raise the level of film debate, participation, and education in the Bahamas, BIFF provides the local community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the region.

Benefiting from its outstanding hospitality and extraordinary island lifestyle, BIFF has drawn attention and praise from media outlets around the world, including CNN, The New York Times, Entertainment Tonight, The London Times, Variety, and more.

Film critic Jeffrey Lyons shares, "The Bahamas International Film Festival is a shining light among a large field of film festivals. I know. I've been attending festivals in Cannes, New York, in Breckenridge, Colorado, and elsewhere. I hosted the Breckenridge festival for 28 years. Bahamas has an astonishing intimacy about it. Young filmmakers, many of them talented Bahamians, get to rub shoulders with movie stars and established filmmakers; contacts they might otherwise not have. It also brings the world to the Bahamas.

The Bahamas International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. In addition to offering films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the Bahamas, BIFF will provide a unique cultural experience, educational programs, and forums for exploring the future of cinema.
